Belize & Kaimosi First Stops on FUM Zoom Tour

Some of our readers already know that Friends United Meeting–Belize consists of a school, Belize Friends School, a church, Belize Friends Church, and a community center, Belize Friends Center. Do you know the people who do the work there? Do you know how the school intends to make the biggest impact on the lives of their students? Do you know how many people come to church on a Sunday morning? Do you know the ways in which the Friends Center reaches out into its community?

FUM–Belize is the first stop as we Zoom-travel around the FUM world this summer, where new life is emerging among us as a constant unfolding of God’s grace. This is exactly what we are looking for as we hear about the new life among Friends in Belize. Come and share the joy found in the unfolding of God’s grace as we learn about and experience the ways God is at work in Belize. The Belize stop on our world tour  will be Wednesday evening, June 25, at 7:00 p.m. ET. You may register here: https://bit.ly/FUM_90days.  After filling out the short registration you will receive a link via email to your Zoom journey, and regular reminders about upcoming stops as we experience the shared joys of ministry in this new season.

Friends Theological College in Kaimosi, Kenya, will be the second stop as we explore FUM's season of new life and shared joy. We disembark with our tour guide, FTC Principal Robert Wafula, on  June 29, at 1:00 p.m. ET. You can register to join the conversation here: https://bit.ly/FUM_90days.Friends Theological College(FTC) was originally founded as Friends Bible Institute in 1942. In 2018, Friends Theological College was fully accredited by ACTEA (Association for Christian Theological Education in Africa). Principal Robert J. Wafula leads an institution dedicated to the training of Friends pastors, as well as to the academic progress, personal development, and spiritual growth of the students whom God is calling to other ministries. The FTC community seeks to integrate faith, scripture, and theology as they train present and future leaders of Quaker churches in East Africa. The main campus of Friends Theological College rests at the top of a wooded slope of land in Kaimosi, where the Friends movement in Kenya first began. The college operates satellite campuses in Nairobi, Lugulu, Lugari, Samburu, and Chebuyusi. The school has one of the best theological libraries in Western Kenya. These pieces of information only begin to tell the story of Friends Theological College and they can never communicate the whole story. FTC is filled with students who are learning, changing and becoming that which Christ Jesus has called them toward becoming. Each semester, each term, each class there is new life emerging among Friends at FTC.  Join with FUM as we learn about and share in the joys that are spiritual learning, growth, and transformation.
