Catherine Gunza is the Communications and Events Coordinator at Friends United Meeting-Africa Ministries Office in Kisumu, Kenya. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations and Advertising from Maseno University and a Diploma in Mass Communication from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication. Catherine has five years’ experience working in administration and communication field in two different organizations.

In her current position at the Africa Ministries Office, she manages the implementation of the AMO communications strategy, serves as an active member of the E-News Team, manages our social media presence, and is in charge of event organization (Conferences, Meetings, and Seminars).

Catherine is excited to be working in a Christian organization because every gesture and utterance speaks volumes about the organization. This has challenged her to read far and wide about the Quakers since a lot of people expect answers during phone calls and office visits, which has helped her to grow not only professionally but also spiritually.

Catherine also has a passion for writing and Friends United Meeting has a special way of relaying different messages through different publications. She is looking forward to working hand in hand with the rest of the team and probably in the years to come have a translated version (English to Kiswahili) of either one or two publications for Kenyan Friends.
