New Rhino for FTC

The Friends Theological College ministry van—dubbed “the white rhino”—finally got a new home and owner after it was recently put up for sale. The white rhino served the faculty and students for a whopping seven years, and it was time to bid it good-bye. Over those years it served as the main means of transport within and out of campus, ferrying students and faculty to various destinations to minister and also to run office errands.

Construction at Baragoi in Samburu

Recently, Daniel Lentirangoi sent us these short videos of children working on the construction of Baragoi Friends Church, in Samburu, carrying sand from a dry river to be used in the construction of the altar. In the second video, the children gather for lunch.

Bible Study: One of Ten

Several years ago, I was inspired by the one of ten in the Gospel account, so I started the spiritual practice of “returning.” On a sheet of paper, I counted my many blessings, identifying places that were transformative in my life and people who have influenced and encouraged me along the way. My list became quite long. Then, when possible, I returned to those places and people to simply say, “Thank you.” I have had opportunities to return to my childhood church in Burundi, teachers, family members, pastors, colleagues, high school, friends, the youth camp where I answered the call to ministry, and other places of blessings.
