There are many charitable and planned giving tools that enable you to build a lasting legacy, provide lifetime incomes, and offer tax benefits while serving Friends United Meeting for many years. Here are some of the most popular tools to consider:
A bequest is a gift made through your will, and is one of the easiest ways to make a difference to an organization you care about. You may include a bequest to FUM when you have a new will prepared, or add a codicil to your existing will.
Issued and administered in partnership with Friends Fiduciary Corporation or Everence, a charitable gift annuity to Friends United Meeting can serve as a safe and convenient way to receive lifetime income while responding to a desire to partner with FUM in its ministry and work.
After you reach 70½ you are required to withdraw money from your Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs). This offers a good opportunity to give tax-free dollars to FUM. Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD) must be transferred directly from your IRA custodian.
As with all charitable gifts, we encourage you to consult with your financial/tax advisor. If you have additional questions concerning your charitable giving to Friends United Meeting, please contact our General Secretary or our charitable services partners at Everence.
