Thirty Days of Prayer - Day Six

ABIDE, GO

The practicalities of salvation

One church member was sick in a church where, the pastor, the leaders and the members were known not to offer visitations to each other and their members. But on this occasion one evangelist on hearing about it decided to pay him a short visit and pray together. Looking at his gate, the sick member was surprised to see this evangelist come to his house and wondered how? Because he was not such critical. As we gather here, the beauty of the Gospel should not be heard in our churches only. Let’s take it to our estates, homes and away from where we are abiding. Be an evangelist to the world.

Going with the Gospel after abiding is more important than any other social visit. Let’s go whether we’re expected or not. Let’s go surprisingly and still be sensitive to people’s different circumstances. Following the example of Paul according to Romans 15:29,  we should be ready to go out and speak about spiritual things and not about football or politics of the country. The focus of the going is everything that relates to the Lord Jesus Christ. After abiding let’s go to others carrying the Lord Jesus Christ in our hearts. Just like the Sun shining upon our faces, our going should bring hope and awareness of God’s gracious shining upon His people. Let’s not fail to exhort those we meet in our goings to have the mind of Christ by being humble.

Query for Reflection

How can I abide in God now and feel that I am ready to go?

Action Step

Read John 1:12 and believe in the Lord Jesus as your Savior, allow by making a prayer of faith for the Holy Spirit to indwell you.

Read Luke 24:13-35.

When you go to places, what are some of the things you talk about along the way?

Prayer focus.

Lord Jesus thank you for allowing us to abide in you, and plead that you give us the desire to go with you to others and share your goodness. Make us more humble even as you lift us up. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
