While Getry will continue to coordinate the work of Friends Church Peace Team during this vital election year in Kenya, she is expanding her role as a pivotal member of our AMO team. As we prepare for Shawn and Katrina McConaughey’s return to the United States, Getry will oversee the Girl Child Education Programme, and manage FUM’s relationships with Turkana Friends Mission and Samburu Friends Mission. Getry is married to Joseph Thuita and a mother of four children: Deenah Khasila, Daniel Njuguna, Esther Khaluhi, and Evans Frazer Thuita.
