Our thanks to Annie Glen

On behalf of the staff, general board and global Friends United  Meeting community, I want to express my appreciation to Annie Glen for her  service among us. After four-and-a-half years filling multiple roles within  our Communications Department, Annie will be leaving FUM on September 15, 2016, to pursue other ministry options.

Annie  came to the FUM staff during a time of great transition surrounding the communications ministry of FUM. Our long-time editor forQuaker  Life was leaving, and we chose that occasion to reflect on our approach  to written and digital communications. Could we better serve our local meetings and churches? Was there a way to do a better job telling the story of God’s work through Quakers around the world, and could we  reimagine the communications department as being a greater resource and  support to Friends from individuals to local congregations to Yearly  Meetings? Annie helped us move this direction in several significant ways.

Along  with her work as a writer and editor, Annie served as our primary advertising  staff and helped with distribution and mailing projects. Annie brought a  pastoral presence to our Richmond office and has worked to build connections across the FUM community. We are grateful to Annie for all she has  contributed and offer our blessing as she continues to serve as a pastor in  the New Association of Friends and as she explores other opportunities.
